Beaufort Tournament

Title
The Beaufort scale, named after Sir Francis Beaufort, classifies wind speeds into 13 ranges (0 to 12). Inspired by this scale, each participant starts in 4 single-elemination tournaments with different matchscores: Breeze (3), Gale (7) and Storm (11) and Tornado with ascending matchscore.

Participation
Participation is open to all persons. Participants from outside Europe should be prepared to play at European times. Registration is open to registered players of WBIF Germany after logging in to the MY WBIF - TOURNEY REGISTRATION section until 13.08.2023. Unless otherwise described, the RULES of WBIF Germany apply.

Location
Pairings will be played in doubt at Backgammon Studio Heroes, Server 1. Participants without an account at Heroes are requested to register there before registering for the tourney.

Mode
4 single-elemination tournaments will be drawn. The tournaments are independent to each other. With high probability you have different players at each tournament. The tournament breeze is played at 3, the tournament wind at 7, the tournament storm at 11 and the tournament tornado with increasing match points, starting with 1.

Timetable
The tournament starts immediately after the registration deadline. For each round at least 2 weeks playing time are granted. The duration of the tournament depends on the number of necessary rounds.
