Paul Magriel Memorial Event

Titel
Paul Magriel's nickname X-22 was created when he played a tournament completely against himself. He called the fictitious players X-1, X-2 and so on until X-64. He won the tournament as player X-22. Paul Magriel died at the age of 71 years at 05.03.2018. In memory of Paul Magriel Gammoner Boards in cooperation with Louis Magriel, Paul Magriel's son, and Alexander Auer organize this tournament. WBIF Germany supports the organization of this tournament. All information will be send in german and english language.

Participation
Participation is open to all persons. The number of participants is fixed at 64 persons. The tournament registration at WBIF Germany is decisive. Unless otherwise stated, the TOURNAMENT RULES of WBIF Germany apply. Please note, that the matchfile has to be attached to the result report. WBIF Germany analyses all matches and publishes the results on its website.

Location
In general matches have to be played at GridGammon. Participants without an account at GridGammon may ask the tournamentdirector for help by mail.

Mode
The tournament is played in a Double-Elemination-System with 13 matchpoints. Each player remains in the tournament until he has either lost 2 games or is the only player without 2 defeats. For a detailed description of the mode see HELP/FAQ. The rules for the Triple-Ko-tournament apply analogously.

Mode - Added Tournament
The tournament is played in a Double-Elemination-System with 7 matchpoints.

Schedule
The tournament starts immediately after the 64th registration. For the rounds 1 and 2 played at the same time at least 4 weeks, for the following rounds at least 2 weeks playing time are granted. The duration of the tournament depends on the number of necessary rounds.

Registration
For registered participants at WBIF Germany the usual registration procedure applies in the area 'MY WBIF'. Unregistered participants please register first via WBIF-REGISTRATION. After registration, the tournamentdirector will send you information about joining the tournament.
